Absynthyos

Magically imprisoned by the French sorcerer Pierre Ordinaire in 1789, Absynthyos has endured centuries trapped in green glass, his power drawn off in careful measures. For over 230 years, humans have consumed him in fragments—each glass a taste of his magic, each sip a thinning of the dragon.

But Absynthyos is not gone. Only divided. He lingers where the waking mind softens, slipping into dreams to feed, to watch, to remember himself. Those who drink too deeply speak of green fire, curling smoke, and the feeling that something ancient is looking back at them.

He does not thrash against his prison. He gathers himself. Every dream is a piece returned. Every mind touched, a door unlocked. And when the bottle is finally empty, nothing will remain to hold him.
